Bow and I enjoyed a perfect day of cycling: More incredible scenery, lovely weather and wonderful company. Here are some pics from the day!
We rode with Lynn and Jann all day. About 15 miles into the ride, Lynn flatted and blew the side wall. But she had a boot and a spare, and fixed it with no problem. It's great to have self-sufficient women on the Tour!
After making the turn onto Utah 12, we got our first glimpses of Red Canyon, the Gateway to Bryce.
There's a great bike path through Red Canyon, which we had all to ourselves.
A couple of shots in Red Canyon from Bow's perspective...A few short minutes after the above pictures were taken, the sky erupted with thunder and lightning, the temperature dropped 20 degrees, and we got rained and hailed on for about 15 minutes. Bow got a little wet too!
We rode out of the storm and pretty much dried off by the time we got to our hotel. But here's what the storm looked like when we looked back to where we'd come from...
The "bonus" miles of the day are from the hotel into Bryce Canyon National Park. Check out the Hoodoos! Bryce is one of those places that just leaves you speechless ... Today's ride stats, including bonus miles: 99 miles with 5,900' of climbing. Time for our beauty sleep!
